Mod_rewrite from htaccess problem

    i have below rule witch works fine:
    ^(.*)/ /page.php?title=$1 [L,NC]
    but when i try to modify with the rule:
    ^(.*) /page.php?title=$1 [L,NC] (same rule without "/" ) i get an internal server error..

    how can i write the rule without "/", so the domain.com/title to be rewrited in page.php?title=title?

    Or

    ^(.+)?/? /page.php?title=$1 [L]
