Hi! I am learning to use this CMS and it says that you need to turn mod rewrite on for friendly urls. I thought it meant that you have to put an instruction in the .htaccess that switched on the automatism (mod rewrite on) Reading a few posts, it doesn't seem that easy and you need to specify single instructions, or am I wrong? Thank you...
Which THIS cms? It's different with every single one. Mostly you need to turn the option on, and put the pre-made .htaccess file in the folder. Of course some CMS don't come with that, or have just simple url rewrite and if you wanna go for something advanced, it's not that simple....
Oh, OK, I thought it was the same thing for every one. In this case it's Open Realty that asks me to turn mod rewrite on for it to use seo friendly urls. I am also playing around with other ones, but it's this one that I'm interested in right now. Can you explain me what that means?
Playing around with I just noticed that it does actually work automatically. Nevertheless I am not completely satisfied with the urls. I suppose I can ask the system to name them as I wish but I have to give specific instructions, such as rewrite 'seo unfriendly url' as 'seo friendly url' with no great limits, but I don't understand the syntax. Could you or someone help me out with this please? Thanks!
