Does anyone know whether it is possible to recognise a users mobile number over WAP/ GPRS/. I want to get the phone number that is used to visit my site. I think it must be possible because when a mobile phone call is made, the recipient gets the callers id. So is it possible to do the same over WAP so that the users mobile number can be used to identify them? I would appreciate any help.
Yeah this is like saying you can find a persons landline telephone number over the internet if they use their broadband to access a website. Its not possible. They are assigned IP's by the provider just like all other web users
Actually I want to create a site for mobile phone browser. I want to create a membership system where only particular Mobile number or SIM or Phone Set would be allowed that is used to register. The benifit is that, nobody can serve his membership to others unless he handover SIM or SET etc. So I need any info from users mobile phone that will identify the particular user and protect unauthorized access. HOW?
I think it is possible if you are able to access somehow phone own OS / sim from web interface somehow (via js, php or whatever can go in deep layer). But i don't know how is possible or even if! But i am sure you can not do it from operator reading settings (like reading ip) Good luck!
If am able to get my site visitors operating system info, browser info, internet service provider info etc. then why I will not get info from mobile phone?
I did not say it is not possible, I just said this can be accomplished via OS of phone not via operator provider. I think this is connected of what kind of OS phone has: Symbian, Win, Android, MacOS, etc, but I don't have a idea how to achieve this. Good luck.
