I am looking into the possibility of creating a number of applications for mobile devices. PDAs, Smartphones ..etc.

Does anyone here have any experience with developing these kind of applications?

What is the best approach.. Java or perhaps .NET?

    I'd appreciate your input.

I'd prefer .net, but that means you need Windows CE with the compact framework.

    Hey Matt,

Apple iPhone is gonna be big, so think about it too when considering mobile apps. With it's built in Safari browser, regular websites work really well already. Creating apps can be done as if for normal websites. You can also develop specific iPhone web-apps - more details can be found over at the Apple Developer Connection.

    Just a thought ;)
