    No! it was when they started, but now you can use it for any thing!
    but its not a good domain, the .info is much better and popular and also the cheaper!
    I earned alot of money by sell them on sedo!

    Not .mobi ! .info ,i have registered 200 domains for $0.60 on registerfly before their problems !
    and selling for $300 each with content and traffic !

    The original idea of .mobi was to be an alternate extension where all text or mobile friendly web pages could be found for larger sites so that they could be easily accessible on mobile devices. The iphone technology has done some serious damage to the .mobi extension, .mobi domains have already peaked... IMO

    just another extension now. mobile phones have developed too much making the need for a special .mobi site obsolete. its more about the content that you offer than it is about the TLD ext.
