I am currently interested in creating a mobile website for my restaurant, but have never done anything close to website design. I want it simple, but I would also like to ad more features when the time is right.
I want to build this myself, so I am not soliciting anyone to build it for me. I am simply trying to find out where I can get the information needed to begin this project.

    Thanx

I suggest you outsource the graphics at least, you can find freelancers on DP, elance, rent a coder, etc. Then start with a WSIWYG editor, Kompozer.net is a good one, if the site is small.

I would also suggest giving Wordpress a try if the site will be large, there's a ton of free templates you can use temporarily for now and later if it's working out have someone create a custom template for or just buy a good template. Upgrading templates is done with a few clicks and managing and updating large sites is so much easier.

Another option would be to go with Xsitepro (just Google it) it costs around $200 but it's similar to Wordpress in updating and managing, but in HTML. I think it's more flexible then Wordpress unless you can find the right theme and plugins, both have advantages and disadvantages over the other.
