    Team name: Team Smoke

    Project name: Sm0ke Online

Brief description: Sm0ke is a fictional operating system packed with the most advanced hacking/cracking tools of the 21st century. Your goal is to penetrate target computers and complete the missions given to you. You start as a victim, given the tools and forced to perform the tasks of your handler. You can then either go after your handler and emancipate yourself from them, or stay obedient, both routes take you down a rich trail of storyline. Each route allows you to interact with other real players who are following a similar path and you can work together to complete tasks and trade items.

Target aim: Develop as a free standalone web app, integrating social media wherever possible. Release with ads. Develop further and add item purchases with real cash.

    Compensation:
All compensation will be an agreed percentage of the profits.
The percentage can only be agreed after the team is completely organised.

Technology: Javascript/JQuery/PHP/HTML5 and potentially a NodeJS server for network demanding features such as chat. All server requests will be AJAX/JSON.

    Talent needed:
PHP Programmer - Core systems. User system. Quest system. Player communications.
    GUI Artist - Front-end graphics.
    Sound Engineer/Composer - Sound effects/music.

    Previous Work by Team:
I don't really count myself as a TEAM but here is an example of my front-end work: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=WxS_rslCJg0

    Additional Info:
A mobile version of smoke can be made which has fewer features but one can use it to check their account information and chat to in-game friends.
I invision a beautifully presented GUI with epic digital ambience music such as can be heard on Mass Effect.
As far as storyline goes, I am currently writing a novel, I feel I can bring something special to this game that is not usually seen with data driven games such as uplink and others.

    Inspirations:

The Anonymous hacking group or more "The way they present it".

    Feedback:
    Happy to receive any feedback.

Nice idea but risky. It 's a niche game and it will be tricky to monetize.

I guess the more fantasy it is, the less niche and risky it gets. For instance, making the hacking less realistic like deus ex did just makes it more of a puzzle game then a hacking sim.
This is all yet to be discussed.
