With so many disgraces in Boxing (Tyson et. al.), I've really taken an interest in Ultimate Fighting. Am I alone? The reality of it seems like it would be harder to rig.
I have a bias towards boxing since I boxed, but I also wrestled so I don't mind MMA, but would much rather watch college wrestling.
MMA is much more entertaining to watch then boxing (if it's a good fight that doesnt end quickly in a submission) I also like Muay Thai, gotta love the elbows to the head.
I'm more of an MMA fan than a boxing fan. There just aren't enough good boxing matches anymore. Most guys are just too defensive and that creates boring fights. The last good boxing fight that I saw was Marquez/Pacquiao and that was in 2004. I missed the rematch this year but I heard that was a great fight too. The problem is that fights like that in boxing have become a rarity. That's why I like MMA now. Even if the fights aren't classics, there aren't the restrictions that are in boxing so you at least know that the fighters are giving their best effort. Boxing matches half the time are nothing more than clutch fests.
