    I would like to get an opinion of value on this domain.

    MLB = Major League Baseball

    The Major League Baseball organization owns the .com, .info and .us. The .net is owned by an electronics company, the .org is owned by an individual. I would like to understand if this domain should be developed or is it just an investment play??

    I have an option to purchase in the mid 1x,xxx range. Is that too high or within a reasonable range? The .biz hasn't quite taken off, in my opinion, but does the association with a major sports franchaise out weigh the extension. I would appreciate your thougths and perspectives. Thanks.

    It's worth nothing. MLB can take that domain away from the domain holder at will. If someone is offering to buy it sell it as fast as you can.

    If you have tons of cash you don't know what to do with, you can at least play the 'You sue me, I sue you' game with MLB ;)

    Why hasn't MLB taken, under that guise, the .org, .biz and .net? I understand the trademark issue, generally, but if it's used legitimately in another area does it still have a huge get hammered outcome? What about a quick flip to MLB?

    Because legally they can't, IF you are using it for a website unrelated to baseball with the initials MLB. There are plenty of other companies with these initials :cool:

    Well, legally you can take anyone to civil court in the U.S. Unfortunately, often, the one with the most money wins.

    3-Letter .biz - $50
    http://www.3character.com/priceguide.html

    However, I would value this one at high $XX to mid/low $xxx. Why is it not worth very much? Well, mostly because only about 3 .biz domain EVER sold (of all reported sales) for more than $1000 (that I could find anyways). And this was in 2005. (source: dnjournal.com)
