Ok......Here i am finally.....Posting on this amazing Forum for the first time....Even though i have been visiting this Forum for the past 2 months and learnt sooooo much from it....Time to break the silence now It is 2 Months back when i first visited this forum and thought of makin money online. I Initially joined an affiliate program at ClickBank...Applied almost every tip and trick given here ....But i made only 1 sale in 1 month = $25.00...and spent almost $100 on google adwords. I did make a Landing Page. Very soon i understood that affiliate marketing was not the thing for me. Main reason for my failure accoring to me is that i dint give it enough time because 1 month is not a very long time to start expecting good returns. Then i started my Second project. This time rather than join some affiliate network i wanted to sell somethin of my own.I Made a website Selling Pure Herbal Hair Loss Product. A well known company in my city makes this product. I got in touch with them and applied for private labelling and after all the formalites started marketing this product on the internet. I have only marketed my site thro PPC ( adwords ) for last 28 days. Here are the results: Clicks:1,997 Impression:1,49,565 CTR: 1.33% Cost : $520.00 I made only 43 sales from 1,997 clicks which means around 1 in ever 46 person is buyin this product. Now here are my questions: 1) Is my CTR on adwords good or can it be further improved ? 2) Is the conversion Rate 1:46 good or should i improve the sales letter ? 3) My site is not indexed on any SE. I dint try any kind of SEO and the reason whic i feel is that Hair loss products is already such a saturated market with so many sites . Now even if i try competing with them i am sure that with the little SEO knowledge i have i will never be able to rank on page 1 of any major SE...and ranking on Page 5 or 6 is as good as not being there. Plz Correct me if i am wrong. This site is not even Indexed in Google or Yahoo. 4) How can i further increase the sales on this site. 40 sales per month is just so LOW. I was expecting 40 in a day ;O). Are sites like safemailservices. com helpful ? ? 5) i wont mind spending 10 times more and generating 10 times more sales because even after deducting cost of shipping , my expense on adwords and my initial purchase of the product i made a $2000 from just 40 Sales. The only problem is number of sales was too less. 6) What is the likelihood of my site gettin affilates if i join some Affiliate Network and plz suggest some good network other than CJ. The Only form of adversting right now is Adwords Thank you all in advance. You people rock.
Can I be honest with you. I think that because of the market that you have chose it will always be difficult to make money. Sure a sale or two is better than none, I know people that have been online for a few years and have not made half the sales you are making now. So to a degree you are doing good. If you really want to make money online it can be done, but it depends on a few factors in order for that to happen. 1. Your level of aggression. (Are you really trying to out do your comp.) 2. The product that you are offering. 3. The quality of the product. 4. Are you bidding on the right keywords? Or you are just going after the ones that get the most searches? 5. Is your site professional looking? (And I do not mean the standard template layout design that you see all over the net) If you ask me affilate programs are not the way to go, just money down the drain. Understand this, people will always buy quality. That is what makes you money online. Does'nt matter if you are ranking #1 on Google, Yahoo and MSN for "gift baskets", if your gift baskets are just like all the rest out there then you still are not going to make alot of money. I will leave it at that because I could talk about online marketing forever. This is the first time I have made a post in this section and I do not want people think I am crazy. Hello billinthemaking First of all i would like to congrates that you anyhow manage to make $2000 without much of seo knowledge. now here are your answers 1) Yes CTR can be really improved upto 10% i think in case of your website for hair loss ( as hair loss is very popular keyword) .. way to increase CTR --- > Improve quality of ads and landing pages as well as add as many keywords as much as you can (like i think minimum you require 1000 as in hair loss) 2) The conversion rate 1:46 isn't good enough --> it should be somewhere from 5-15% ---> it can be improved from you sales pitch and landing pages as well as live customer support and website looks 3) You are right hair loss is very competitve keyword and yeah it is hard to rank but its not impossible you can still try that try to go for specific keyword tragetting like Herbal Hair loss product, etc. 4) I have no idea about that site surfmailservices.com , but you can try to advertise yor affiliate program in affilateshangout.com or shareasale.com or here in DP 5) see point #2 6) see point #4 BTW, how many keywords did you added in your google adwords? try to go for geotargetting it might help you away for getting more sales and use negative keywords option as well Good luck i hope this helps you
Thanx for all your help and advise. I have 486 Keywords in my campaing. I am already targettin this AD for specific places and the campain has around 40 Negative words. Leaveing aside PPC and SEO what other forms of advertising would you suggest for a product like this.
You can try overture i think.. umm no idea about any other ways.. but yeah you can go for Press release , there are some members here who run PR service you can contact them.. its one way to get buyers why dont you sell on Froogle or Ebay??
