Mistakes to be avoided while designing site for good SEO

Umm, could you elaborate a lil? Do you have like a list or something with mistakes to avoid? If so, could you post it please?

Have unique titles and meta content and/or keywords for every page which actually describes what the page is about. Avoid duplicate content.

 

The mistake I made was that, in the start I used 4-5 keywords in anchor text for all my backlinks. The result was bad. I suggest to use 1 keyword in anchor text.

a few keywords can pull up more SERPS for combinations of any single word.
I think it might be comparable to Scrabble in a way ..maybe not, but I sometimes think of it that way.

So if you and another person both have the same word on the board ..a word that someone searched for in Google , then Google would decide who gets the priority of being the higher SERP. It might look to see what your scores are in the game overall , and then, who more actively puts down words and gets the word scores, and who has been playing longer.

I suppose it would depend on the competition and the relevance of other keywords in combination with your main keyword, since some keywords need combination words to make them relevant , where others might just be seen as irrelevant extra-dressing of the keyword.
