Is it possible to rank for a mispelling keyword, if the mispelt keyword is in the meta tags only.

    A mispelling can look unprofessional.

    Thanks

I did a post on one of my blogs this spring listing a bunch of misspellings and it brought google traffic. The keyword is vinyl and it seems like nobody can spell it correctly. You just need to find a tasteful way of listing the misspellings so you don't hurt any idiots feelings.

EDIT, I just checked my stats of 2 of my top 10 keyword searches are from two of the misspellings.

    FHI,

    THANKS for the reply.

Is it possible to succeed using meta desc only. I can imagine with the word you are using there are lots of mispellings.

If you do use it onsite how do you tastefully include a mispelling without your reader losing confidence in your site?

I'll PM you a link to the blog post.

Others do it it footers, meta and alt---I have not tried any of them yet.
