Switch to lighthttpd, it scales quite nicely for large sites.

 

while lighthttpd is certainly better as a webserver, it sadly does not support .htaccess that means goodbye to all those fancy urls you see on blogs , only the ugly ?=p123 posts.

i have tried that and failed.

 

You have to edit /etc/lighthttpd/lighthttpd.conf and make some adjustments

Restart the server ( /etc/init.d/lighthttpd restart ) and you're set.

 

i have done that, it did not work.

wish someone can help me out in that

anyways, so server migration is almost complete, and it has even started getting traffic.

making the autoblogs was becoming more of a hindrance ( i am more of a automator guy )

i have started using wordpress MU ( it's a special multiuser edition of wordpress, you are more familiar with wordpress.com


although i have a fairly good VPS now , even that has started to bog down under the super heavy load of my autoblogs

anyway, so the sites are going extremely well, and hopefully, they will continue to do well..

 

My autoblogs aren't doing well at all.

 

my vps is fairly cheap, just about 13$ a month, with free control panel ( directadmin/cpanel etc cost an additional 15$ a month more.

i have been using just the essential plugins on wordpress mu, and so far, it has shown to be highly robust and scalable.

the script that i was having ( which made partial rss feeds full, ) is very resource intensive, therefore i have decided not to use that, instead, i am only using the other two sources for content.

so, on an average, i start to get traffic for the site, on 2nd day that it is online, and usually earnings start from that day itself.

i have also started selling some facebook vouchers along with custom ebooks

so far so good, let's hope it all works out in complete.

one of the advantages of having a wordpress mu is the database, you can have 1 database for all your sites, and voila, you can host the same sites some place else.

i have 24,800 pages indexed of 1441.org domain with google now and 316 of 300xl.com

traffic is increasing day by day, as a fact, i had to upgrade my vps to 1gb ram now, because of extremely heavy resource usage. ( and strangely enough it looks like i have to upgrade soon enough again)


Just a tip, dont' try to optimize your vps, it is not worth it, defaults work better than rest

the free control panel that i am using (instead of cpanel or directadmin which cost like 256 mb ram and 15$ a month as well) is working fine, and it even has a backup function which automatically packs everything, and puts it on another server via ftp. ( which i did if you would remember i have a full year paid shared account as well.) plus a very co-operative hosting person as well, definitely good doing business with him.

looks like if it works and keeps on improving like this, i will be able to retire very very soon

there is no software for autoblogs, the difference is the way that you make these autoblogs, and what type of keywords you use.

 

this guy is a SCAM, he uses mininova and so on to get exposure for his sites, but as soon as he gets banned for spamming, his sites become dead, dont listen to him and dont offer him a penny, it will make you £2 and then the next day google adsense will ban you.
