I have purchased around a dozen backlinks on PR4 and PR5 websites, however when I search for my backlinks on sites like backlinkwatch.com, they don't show up. Any ideas? My PR is also listed as 0 even though I have written articles and submitted them as well as having lots of "unlisted" backlinks?! Any help or explanations would be greatly appreciated. The link is in my sig. Thanks.
I have had links for more than 5 months and Google keeps ignoring them. They just started to show up in my webmaster central account but not with a link: search ..
google masks backlinks. i suggest checking yahoo or msn if you want a better list. Just because they aren't showing, doesn't mean you aren't getting value from the backlinks...
Google hides links on purpose. Your PR probably wont be updated for a few months on the toolbar, though the value google uses to calculate SERPS is always up to date, so seeing your site 'jump from PR 0 to 6' won't mean you suddenly rank higher, because google has considered your site a PR 6 (example) for a while, so it is ALREADY reflected in the SERPS.
Sorry for posting in your thread, seems pretty pointless just to create a new one. Can anyone tell me how long it actually takes for google to rank your website? How often does google do a check? Many thanks, Jamie Hann
It takes time to index backlinks but continue searching quality backlinks. Quality backlinks will help for your website link popularity
It takes time and there are a lot of factors that google consider before they rank a website...just improve you site with quality and valuable content and at the same time improve your link popularity...use your targeted keywords when linking that might help you for a better position on SERPs for a certain keyword...
