Missed FAFSA Deadline; Pissed Off

    This is totally unfair. My husband worked at this garden place last year and they never sent his W2s. We called the IRS and they said there is nothing they can do. Apparently they lied to us because they actually can file a complaint and get us our W2s.
    I was so excited last year because 2008 is the first year I can qualify for government aid because of my age. Well now I miss my state's FAFSA deadline and although I can fill out the FAFSA there is nothing it will do for me except qualify me for a loan I will never afford.
    My whole dream was to go to college and now I can't go for another whole year because even after my husband contacted the garden place and the IRS we still don't have his W2s.

    Sorry, *RANT*

    I need to find a quick way to raise money for school.

    you dont neccessarily have to wait for W2 to apply for Fafsa.
    They give you option of saying do you apply or are going to apply.

    One year, I didnt even put my tax info but jsut estimate on the general questions where they say if not going to apply for tax return what are your this and that $...do you give away $ etc....

    you can still apply for scholarship and sometimes you can get all fees paid off via scholarship

    Melbel, you should've put an estimate. The only thing that would've stopped you from receiving aid is if they chose you individually and randomly to verify that number. And if they did stop to verify certain things such as that, you could've extended the deadline.

    Yeah =/. It's what I did. They requested verification & I couldn't provide..lol. So I didn't get aid. Whatever though..you learn from your mistakes!
