Misleading Information on Who Is Records - Legal?

I came across this the other days, where someone I know has registered a domain name to get back at me.

I used to own the domain but let it lapse and he has registered in pure spite.

In the whois records under the registrants information, he has put a false name in the registrants name.

Instead of his real name, he has put "Mr Big", when thats not his real name.

Is that permissable? ( I am not really talking about civil law in this case but rather is it permissable in the eyes of the registrar)

Can I complain to his registrar about that?

    What will the registrar do?

Why not contact the registrar and say the domain is yours. Without a proper name they can't prove that its not.

Would love to but the domain is locked and the billing and tech details are correct.

I originally owned it and let it lapse, then he registered it, put mr big as the registrants name, then locked the domain.

Sureley the registrar can warn him about putting a false name?

Where would I find info on that?

If you are interested in filing a whois data problem go to:

    http://wdprs.internic.net/

They will contact the registrar, and give the registrar time to investigate and fix it. Some registrars will charge a fee to people who have invalid information when they have such an inquiry and they will require that the information be fixed or else they will take the domain back.
