Please see attached. Especially note how they put the 'feedback' and their url inside the image as well. I clicked feedback and wanted to report it but no such thing but an e-mail. Wasn't their a real feedback form up until a while ago? I mean, if I e-mail them now, how will they reference it to the right ad? Do they expect us to rightclick and get pub-id's and all that? No run of the mill surfer will know how to do that. The feedback system seems shambolic to me, it's more a PR or awareness campaign than anything else.
I still get the normal feedback form when I click on ads by google.. maybe is was just a temporary glitch.
Hmmm I do too on text ads, but not that image ad. I'll try and find another image ad to see the feedback. Got the same ad again on the New Posts page here and when I click the feeback - ads by Google link it goes here: http://www.google.com/ads_by_google.html no form, no reference to the ad or publisher for them to record.
AdSense/Adwords police, please calm down. The advertiser in this case has just made his image with the URL and feed-back bit in because they probably didn't know - because Google doesn't tell you - about not including that bit, or putting it in. They we're *trying* to comply. What's your problem? You instantly assume they are purposely being misleading, for what? So they can garner irrelevant clicks which waste them advertising money? Hu.. I don't get it. And off you go trying to report another innocent/un-aware party of their 'wrong doings'. Here's an idea - goto guava.co.uk or whatever the site is, mail the webmaster and say 'Hey, did you know you don't have to include the 'feedback by' like that? Just make the banner xx size and Google adds that bit underneath, because this is how it is currently and it's wrong and will probably get you a few irrelevant clicks if someone clicks feedback, wasting you money' instead egh. Better yet, ignore it. Pete
*YAWN* Anyway, regarding your question, tops, sometimes you need to click a few times on the feedback link and after one or 2 tries you will get the feedback form, did you try doing that? It's happened to me a few times
Easy GADOOD, I wasn't blaming anyone, just wanted to report it, since that's what feedback is for, or isn't it? The only one I'm blaming is Google for having such a crap feedback system. I know it might have been done by accident, but if no one tells them, they'll never know. No Fryman, I haven't tried multiple attempts. Doesn;t seem logical to me but I'll try anyway, thanks for the suggestion.
You was insinuating the advertiser created a misleading advert.. "Especially note how they put the 'feedback' and their url inside the image as well" I understand you can't of thought how this would of benefited the advertiser before deciding they we're being purposely misleading. "I know it might have been done by accident" - what other options are there, except they wanted to throw dollars away? Come on now.. at least stick to the original story, you're back-peddling. You insinuated the advertiser created a misleading advert, especially as they put their URL and the feedback link in their image. Just advise guava.co.uk of their mistake, as that's all it was.. it's the quick and direction solution.. unless you originally planned to see to it this advertiser was 'dealt with' for .. well..... doing nothing wrong at all...... *shrugs* Pete
Ooh go crazy rob. Ignore me, that's clever. Can't you listen to a bit of honesty and sense? Oh well.... forever live and filter the world according to your subjective delusions. Pete
Pete, why are you so offended by my posts in this thread, I really don't see the problem. If Google isn't notified they miss out on a chance to improve their system. As if contacting Guava is going to help. I can tell you how it will go: Me: Hi, can I speak to the person who designs your AdSense banner splease. They: What? This is the sales line sir... Me: Whatever... I won't bother. Lame suggestion anyway by someone offended by me.
I clicked it dozens of times now but never get the form. I right click and copy links location and get this: http://services.google.com/feedback/abg?url=http://forums.digitalpoint.com/&hl=en&client=ca-pub-5676236325709660&adU=www.guava.co.uk&exp=Ads+by+Goooooooogle&done=1 Code (markup): It redirects to the one linked to earlier. Stooooopid Goooogle
That's a big assumption. I'm not offended I'm dismayed that you believed guava we're purposely misleading with their banner, for no apparent reason or benefit to themselves. You just quickly saw it and assumed the worst of them.... don't really know why..... but you did. guava limited the stables hurst grove sandford lane hurst berkshire RG10 0SQ tel: 0118 932 1100 fax: 0118 932 1222 email: Note that's a /home/ address on their contact page. Obviously a small, home business. An honest one at that, who you did insinuate was trying to mislead because of the way they designed their banner. I bet you a pound to a pinch of salt if you e-mail them they will reply and change their banner thanking you for notifying them. Hell, give them a ring.. you'l probably find they're nice people not out to decieve anyone creating adwords banners that have the potential to lose them money if someone clicks the feedback within it. On the other hand, e-mailing Google about it, yes, you will get automated systems and various departments - do you really think they will change the way they ask AdWords customers to design their banners? There's a far higher chance Guava will reply with a small 'thanks for letting us know' message, and you'l feel a whole lot better. Pete
No, that's missing the point. I don't have any issues with Guava's ad in particular. I have an issue with such misleading ads making it into the system I'm part of and on top of that, not being able to report it the way it's meant to be and the way it makes most sense to most people (but you). I won't feel better contacting them. I'll feel better when Google improves their Ad acceptance systems as well as their feedback system. As you might be able to find out from re-reading the initial post, this thread is mainly concerned with the feedback system. Not this ad or whoever made it.
