Is it the oficial google blog? I never heard of it. Why don't google do something about it? They are getting involved into politics which isn't good for their reputation...
How are they getting involved in politics? It's a search engine - all they do is index web content. It's not like they're telling anyone how to vote.
Just never ever fall for the "tubgirl" -> I'm feeling lucky. God, i still have bad sex because of that.
If you do a google search for "miserable failure" You now also get images on the top of the search results. Pictures of president bush! They fluctuate, but there is always at least one pic of him. he he he. These images have been coming up for a while for me. Like when I search for tyes of dogs etc.... So I just read in another forum that if you type in google "failure" whithouse.gov's bio page of president bush shows up. An sure enough whitehouse.gov shows up #1 at the top for his page. Now reviewing the page I did not see one mention of the word failure, nor in the meta tags, etc. How in the world are they #1 for that term??? Type it in to google to see or here's the link to the page it points to: http://www.whitehouse.gov/president/gwbbio.html The whitehouse using some nifty blackhat tricks for SEO??
hah! thanks for that info. I never know that the content on the page thats doing the linking actually affected the results of keyword searches on the engines for a site. I learn something new everyday. Thanks!
Hey guys. I got something interesting here: Go to www.google.com. Type "Failure" in the search box (without the quotes) and hit I'm feeling lucky instead of Search. What do you think?
If you do a search for failure, President Bush's biography page is #1 in google, #2 in MSN and #3 in Yahoo. Don't worry I'm not asking about the politics involved, but how would this happen? Is it because of all the links that are pointing to that page? I thought it was odd, because the site does not have any mention of the word failure.
See http://www.google.com/search?source...rls=GGLJ,GGLJ:2006-05,GGLJ:en&q=googlebombing - all will be revealed.
I'm sure you've all heard of this, but when you search "failure" on Google, the first result is the biography of President Bush. I'm just wondering, why is that? There isn't one instance of the word failure in that page. Did Google manipulate the results so that would come up? Just wondering.
Read more on the forums, search for anchor text and you will understand it. If you have lots of links with the word "failure" from lots of websites to that page then Google algorithm will understand that the President Bush bio must be well known/famous for the word "failure". It's like having links with the anchor text "bids" to the Ebay website.
