Minor mod_rewrite issue

    I've spent some time looking for the fix for this but haven't found it. I have implemented redirection on my site and everything seems to be working very well except for one thing. I'm not even sure it there's a way around this, but it sure would be helpful if there is. If I go here: http://www.axelis.com/directory, it works fine, but if I go here: http://www.axelis.com/directory/, it gives me a 404 error. Any idea why the trailing slash would cause this?
