I have a Photoshop CS3 installer and I'm buying a new laptop. Will an i5 processor actually affect the performance of this software if installed?
It really depends on what you are going to be doing with Photoshop. You need a good hard drive atleast 100GB, an i5 processor is perfect, good memory atleast 2GB but 4GB would be better, good graphics card. Most newish computers can handle Photoshop perfectly.
I'm running Photoshop CS5 on an i5 laptop (it's open now, along with dreamweaver, zend studio, about a dozen browser windows and skype), and it runs perfectly. Any i5 laptop will have enough spec to run CS3, almost certainly.
I'm using Photoshop CS3 on my laptop with Core 2 Duo processor without any problem. Running CS3 on i5 should be no problem too. - Dynashox -
I am using core to duo processor with window 7,i install Photoshop 7 in my laptop and its working fabulous there is no problem with you in i5 processor.
When I had Win 7..My specs were Core 2 Duo, Win7, 4gig ram, 500gig hd, built in nvidia graphics and I ran CS5 with no problem at all
anything above a core 2 duo that is 2 ghz or higher and more than 2 gb of RAM will run photoshop nicely.
