minimum amount of back links?

    Can you suggest a minimum amount of back links or is there ever a maximum, in order to maximize my PR?

    Minimum is 1 back link to gain page rank. There is no maximum.

    To gain PR think quality rather than quantity and to be honest you should just ignore trying to achieve PageRank. Positioning is more important.

    There is no maximum number.

    Agree with Cormac, your keywords position is more important and do not think about PR much. Just keep on building backlinks and PR will automatically start building.
