Hey, this IS an assignment, but I just want some information on the topic of minimal perfect hashing. When writing a minimal perfect hashing function, is it dependent on specific values found in the used key, or is it supposed to be applicable for any data? I am guessing the former, but I just wanted to ask and see if anyone knew.
