mini slap

I've started a new adwords campaign.... i'm fairly new to adwords, and i've experienced my first "slap", although it has been a minor one.

it's not a $10 slap, but a it still hurts... i was promoting an affiliate campaign through clickbank. When i was doing direct linking, i was getting clicks for about $0.35. I didn't like the landing page however, so i decided to create my own minisite and landing pages.

I finally finished my site, sitemap and everything...and started my campaign on adwords. Right away my minimum bid was $0.60 for my keywords. Then, even though i had a pretty good CTR (above 5%), my minimum bid went up to $1.20. My major problem was not my keyword releveance, but my landing page relevance.

question 1) why would my bid go up just like that??

So today i did some work and added about 300 words of fresh unique content to the landing page, made an about page and linked to it from my landing page, and made a contact page and linked to that from my contact page. (i already had a link going to home, privacy policy, and terms).
question 2) If these changes do help my qual score, how long before the changes would be reflected in my bids(approximately?)

and, any other good tips to help me improve my landing page relevancey??

    Thanks to all

how do you link out from your page to clickbank? (it matters google hates affiliate links and thin pages)
make sure you have low bounce rate.
