Mini sites -- seperate or integrated?

    Hi,

I have a website selling outdoor supplies, especially knives.

I want to build many mini sites on related subjects (for example: military knives, choosing a tent, camping stoves, hunting knives, etc.)

Should I build these mini sites as part of my current site, or should I built them on seperate hosts?

If I build them on seperate hosts, I'll get inbound link pop to my main site.

If I build them into my main site, then prospects will already be on my site without a need to click-through to my main site.

Pros? Cons? What would you do & why?

    Thanks!

    Yes.

Seriously though, since the subject matter is all similar, I'd consider making one big hub first. Then you can use the strength (SE and traffic) of your big site to more effectively debut your other mini-sites.

the idea of creating the minisites and hosting them all over is good but you may find it gets to be a real hassle dealing with a whole bunch of hosting companies,
