I want to start mini niche project and thinking is it possible to do with blogspot instead of a .com or .info domain? Do .com or .info domain easier to get ranking in google SERP? What is the benefit of using .com and .info domain? Please help..i will start my project after seeing ur advice. Thanks
In my opinion it doesn`t matter for SEO if you have .com domain or blogspot, but people will remember easier .com. If it`s one of your first websites, you can go with blogspot, but if you can invest as little as 10$, buy a .com domain and get a free hosting. This is better for long term. Many people start with blogspot and after a few months move to .com and lose all links and traffic, so you can avoid that
Well, I definitely wouldn't go for a .info--.com, .net or .org's work best, although blogspot's can rank, too. The only thing with a blogspot is that you really don't have full control over it, google does. I don't know if later you can buy a domain name and set it up to work with your blogger blog, I think you can, but you might want to look into that.
Spot on mate. I had the similar problem- started with blogspot, sold some links on blog, bought a .com domain and then lost all the links (didn't lost the traffic though). My advice, if you have got $10 to spend, get a good .com domain name. Else, just use blogspot domain and try to make it better with good content.
since it is a mini niche site..im thinking to do some with blogspot..i dont need to change the blogspot to domain name coz i just need to get new domain and new niche right? Thanks for all the advice guys..
I think blogspot is ok, I think if you are going to do many sites to see what works first then starting with Blogspot is a good idea.
Better buy a .com and optimize those mini niche keyword through inner page article of that .com domain. Although its easy to rank keyword rich mini sites domains, but then managing them all is a serious task and can be extremely messed up as well. Link building, SEO, Promotions etc etc will have to be done separately, while with one website backlinking those inner page articles will add to overall authority of the website and with time and age your new articles will start ranking without even any backlinks, just because of google trust and authority it achives with time and age. Speaking from my personal experience. Just my 2 cents!
Dot com is still the winner here. It is still one of the most trusted tld in Big G's eyes. Because of the low price, dot info are commonly used for other kind of activities. So dot com will be definitely more helpful in your ranking. Next best will be net and org If you are really serious about your on-line business. I will suggest you spend a wee bit of money to purchase a domain instead of relaying on b;ogspot. It wouldn't help you much in your serp. You are still require to promote and build links. So since you need to do that, might as well use your own asset and in future you can also flip it off.
.com domain is more popular than info. In terms of ranking, I think it's not in domain name extension but it's how you promote your site. If you are really planning to launched micro sites, then buy your own domain and avoid blogspot. But, if you are only planning to launched micro site just for adsense, then you can use blogspot.
Good advice so far. Definitely .com extension if you want your mini niche project to do well. Blogspot isn't bad, but if you're half serious about ranking well, you'll need to invest in a .com extension (though .org and .net are nearly as good). If you're planning on doing a little keyword research and are thinking of putting good quality content into your mini niche site it is best that you invest a bit of money into a decent domain name with a good extension. By cutting this particular corner could prove costly in the long run if you're planning in putting together a half decent mini site. Good luck with your site.
