    To all the nay-sayers:

I say this again, people will be skeptical until it becomes a success. Then they'll commit mass suicides. I'll be mailing free rope to those who wish to participate.

I know there's a margin of risk, but as I've said, the idea is solid, and nothing was ever achieved without risk.

As to the eternal question if he'll continue to optimize and promote the website? He makes around $2,000 a day from new pages. Let's just say that'll get anyone motivated to work very efficiently.

It Doesn't need buzz to grow. MDHP would have been nothing without the press - that was the only way it could grow.

    • With every sale from the MDWiki, it recieves a new member in the community which wants the site to get more traffic and succeed.
    • Every page that is developed or updated could get some traffic, especially with stumbleupon, or search engines.
    • Two page owners are on this thread just talking about their purchases. I know others are talking else where - somewhat viral.
    • There is an affiliate program that is getting others selling pages. (you don't have to own a page to profit).
    • There is an emphasis to buy early, since competitive keywords go first - marketing, business, blog, free, make money, are all taken.

The only thing behind MDHP was 1 million pixels and MDWiki has a growing community behind it. That is why it will work.

I'm going to take a look, but at least initially I'm pretty skeptical of things like this. I will say it's pretty original though. Stay tuned for more educated ideas from me! lol.

I personally wouldn't buy a page on it because of the site name and that's it's uninteresting. The site name is similar to milliondollarhompage. It would of been better if it didn't have milliondollar in it. I also don't think the average surfer will look at the page, and if so wouldn't browse it for long because it's not interesting.

Just looked into it, doesn't appear to be worth much in my mind. Def. a fad, well aren't all Internet things?

I've bought a page there when it was on the upside of Alexa ranks and after a few sites pointed me to John Chow. I believe only smart urls will earn 100$ worth from their page there. Others won't.

One thing I've learned AFTER I got my page is that nothing stops your competitors from getting the same name with a different upper-casing.

So if you got Proxy, I can get a page called proxy or proxY or whatever. For SEO purposes, they'll be roughly the same weight, which diminishes the value of your page.

This makes it really hard for you to hold the ground - the longer your word, the easier it will be for others to compete for the same niche using different upper-casing.

You, sir, need to learn to search the forums before you make dumb posts. MDWGuy on MDWforums.com explained that the algo wouldn't allow you to buy another page, with different casings. It's a simple bug being fixed.

As for the update, I've recieved about 150 uvs to each of my advertisied proxies on there in the past week. These are targetted visitors who are looking for new proxies, so they will be returning visitors. Every visitor counts in the beginning of the year, until I get my traffic started, so I'm happy with my page. The traffic will only increase from there. The smart will earn money from this project. The stupid will criticize the project.

EDIT: I recieved this comment within 10 minutes of this post.

Do everyone a favour and grow balls to leave a name. If you can't say something smart, and feel compelled to say something stupid, leave a name, atleast.

    Hi Vadym,

    And thanks for your comment!

Can you give a link to the explanations of this on MDWforums? Would mean the only concern of mine will be gone then!

I didn't read the forums, but got scared after seeing a page similar to this:

    http://www.milliondollarwiki.com/ProxY

So it does look like it's available, but the next step check confirms that you really can't buy proxy, so that's cool.

Thanks for the explanations, but I would refrain from calling my posts dumb.

pS: I swear it wasn't me who left that comment, Vadym. Thanks for the info, I feel MUCH better about my MDW purchase because of this! :)
