Military victory in Afganistan impossible

    Reasons being:

    1. Nobody has done it before. There is much evidence now that the US security forces make moves to provoke the Soviets into invading Afganisaton in 1979 because they knew that victory for them there would be impossible.

    2. The current regime is corrupt from top to bottom, and anyway only holds authority over a minority of the country.

    3. The opponents they are fighting are a death cult. These people thrive off war - the more there is, the stronger they get.

    What do you think?

Well two guys in the history have done it, Gangez Khan and Taimur.

Regarding your third point. Afghans don't like to take dictation, its kinda in their blood. In sounth asia we called them (afghans and pashtuns) AKHROOTS (wallnuts). If they get an idea, its really hard to change their mind and by force your chances are zero. Reason and dialagoue is the only proven method to work with them. Thats what Pakistani govermnet is trying to do but US don't like the idea.

If you can make friends with a Pashtun, they are your friend for life. Very warm people if you can get past their tough exterior.

Pukhtoon loves fighting but hates to be a soldier, Loves music but has a great contempt for musician, He is kind and gentle but hates to show it, Loves his new rifle and his old wife, hot-blooded and hot-headed and poor and proud with strange principles, Might be a loving friend or a deadly enemy. They just may be wondering if 911 was really worth it - There is a great deal of Science to the US war effort of degradation to the enemy infrastructure. The lack of news gives a clue the Afghans are not so immortal after all.

    1. No one has fought there with weapons of mass destruction before either. Theoretically winnable via this method.
    2. So is ours.
    3. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE.
