It doesn't seem bad at all? He's a former pastor I don't think he do something like this in bad taste.

Agreed. Nothing but the utmost respect is clearly demonstrated.

It's unfortunate that someone would use "God" in a dishonest way to attempt to discredit someone.

I'd expect nothing less, from guerilla.

I don't know how anyone can say it is in good taste.

Spoofing a phone call from God to make jokes about the election and communicate the party platform.

For a Pastor, and a man with claims to have a degree in theology (in the CNN/YouTube debate), he sure couldn't give a direct answer about Jesus and the death penalty.

I found it quite entertaining and Huckabee clearly shows a great respect for God.

His answer about the death penalty was spot on. I watched that debate, saw that response personally. A truly magnificent response that drew huge applause.

His answer comes just after 1:35 into the video. Another cheap laugh at the expense of a straight answer using Jesus in his punchline.

His answer was mad smooth. He is a good speaker, not as good as Clinton I think but damn good. He didn't directly answer the question, but that whole debate was just ugly, very bad questions trying to corner every candidate. CNN knew what they were doing. It is hard to give an answer to that because how is he supposed to know what Jesus would do? We are about 2000 years past Jesus' time, come on, and CNN should know better that debate was atrocious and I lost a lot of respect for CNN.

Yeah because they should all get softball questions

What would jesus do is actually a pretty good question for a religous man. Simply answer what you think jesus would do/think. Not that difficult.

If you trully believe in Jesus, the bible, teachings, and you follow them, you should also follow what Jesus would do. If Jesus is not for the death penalty, now how can you be?

Pretty smart question IMHO, not a softball question so many appear to love and adore.

I know it isn't a softball question, none seemed to be and they all seemed to strive to make the Republicans look bad which pissed me off I don't want to see a bunch of "beating around the bush" to avoid the inevitable, I want a good debate, which CNN deprived us of.

There have been no good debates. They are heavily moderated, and the candidates are kept to short answers.

A real debate would cover a couple issues, everyone would get equal time, and an opportunity to respond. But the debates typically focus on Giuliani and Romney, to the detriment of all of the other candidates.

No one who is remotely politically aware on the right, thinks either of them is a good candidate.

I watched the entire clip. Respectful, clean, humor. It so completely paints the opposite picture you are going for here, all I can do is smile (thinking "how dishonest can someone be?")

I've bookmarked it for future reference! Great clip!

Absolutely! I find him a genuine pleasure to listen to. The CNN debate was a sham. I kept expecting some liberals to chime in defending CNN and the debate, but I've been remarkably surprised that none have (at least, that are not on my ignore list). It seems a general consensus among those here that it was not a good debate format and was plagued with less than honest intentions.

Oops, I stand corrected. Someone on my ignore list was just quoted by another member and apparently I was wrong. I should be more careful in assuming in the future.

Huckabee is a phony. You only have to look up his record in Arkansas and the number of times he was investigated and reprimanded for ethics violations.

Not to mention the number of times he has dishonestly answered questions on his record.

I could get behind a preachy, goofy man of God type politician, if I thought he was honest. I don't think Mike is. It's more of the same, smile and wave politics nonsense that the masses confuse with being genuine.

If you want a pro-life candidate, it's someone who has worked for legislation to protect the unborn, doesn't want to create unnecessary military conflict which causes death on both sides, and someone who opposes the death penalty.

    Paraphrase
"What do you believe Jesus would do, would he allow the government to kill its citizens?"
"You know, I think there is a place for the death penalty. It's a lot better to convict and kill someone together than to kill a fetus"
"Uh, ok, we know you like the death penalty more than abortion, you're a conservative. But you say you worship and follow Jesus, so what do you believe he would do?"
"He wouldn't get involved in politics"
    Added personal thought
"Ok Mike, we got that, probably true. But if you claim to follow his word, what do you believe his word would be, as a professed expert of Jesus?"

I didn't like the format either, as it sure didn't give equal time. Nor did it give enough time to answer certain questions.
On the other hand many times the candidates did not want to answer the question and trailed off.

I want hard questions answered, I do not want to see them 'beat around the bush either' some of them sure did though. Why do you not want to know which candidate wont answer a simple question?

Personally I like tough questions being asked, it shows which candidates are willing to answer and which ones are going to dodge the question.

How that can be turned into anything else is beyond me..
