$850 million dollar surplus with a total of $500 million more dollars of taxes increased than decreased? Not as impressive as you make it out to sound. Unless I'm missing something (which I honestly might be).
http://clubforgrowth.com/2007/11/updated_huckabee_white_paper.php Btw, blocking SCHIP was the most conservative thing that Bush has done. It's badly formed, and is totally inequitable. Another fiscal boondoggle.
A surplus means that he taxed more than he needed. Not that he cut programs to get the budget deficit under control, he just taxed until they had enough money. As posted above, many of his "legendary" tax cuts were trivial and only affected a handful of citizens. If someone wants to see what a truly conservative (fiscally) Governor looks like, look up Mark Sanford, who didn't battle with Democrats like Huckabee, he actually took on his own party in the State Legislature, and has brought sanity to South Carolina government. I'm sad that Sanford did not run for President. There is still hope of a Sanford/Paul ticket though. They were good friends in Congress, voting against spending increase, after spending increase.
Club for Growth has already been debunked. Though I can appreciate the threat you believe he is to RP and would continue to post the same issues that have already been addressed. More to follow
Again, more dishonest assertions from guerilla. As I sourced earlier, Huckabee had tremendous bi-partisan support from both democrats AND republicans for the Supreme Court mandated tax increase. The advantage RP supporters have is, most people know their integrity falls short, so they are not held accountable.
Did anyone see the Club for Growth debunked? They post sources for all of their candidate whitepapers, and the Huckabee sources are quite comprehensive. Also, the Cato Institute rated Huckabee an "F" for 2006, and "D" on his overall tenure. http://www.cato.org/pubs/pas/pa581.pdf
See you're definitely confused. Karl Rove was the one who sought out a 3rd party IT company to use the DoD protocol of erasing hard drives. He told the public he did this to erase viruses. Well..on the report from the IT firm it says nothing about viruses, only about wiping multiple hard drives. Why would be seek out a 3rd party company when the government has their own? Why would HE do anything related to fixing computers? Maybe he did it to cover his ass and illegally deleted millions of government emails? Your boy Huckabee was the one who physically destroyed 90 hard drives. Find me a reputable source that says DESTROYING hard drives (not erasing but ruining them beyond repair) is a government policy. Why is there such a controversy over it if it's standard procedure and previous governors have done it...?
That seems like a decent list of reasons to support Huckabee to me. Of course, I am opposed to all government marriage -- whether homosexual or heterosexual. Marriage should be a private institution.
Lol how do Ron Paul and his supports lack integrity? Go look at his voting history. He's flipped on a couple issues in his entire political career. WHEN he does flip-flop he explains WHY he did it and what circumstances led to his decision. Sounds like a man of integrity to me.
You haven't been around the past few months (since about March, wasn't it?) to see how low the integrity of RP supporters has been. It's really not surprising, since all the forum's alex jones nuts, troofers, anti-semites and conspiracy kooks have all rallied together under a common umbrella. Voting record doesn't mean anything. He's voted no. That takes no skill. He has no leadership experience, he's never passed any meaningful legislation, he's never accomplished anything. That's not presidential material. I understand why he is your candidate. I knew it without you even saying it, when you came back. I remember
Judging a candidate by the way his supporters act is ridiuclous. He has no control over it. Should nobody vote for Romney because his voters vote over and over to boost his "popularity". Of course not. Anyways you haven't found a source that says destroying hard drives is standard procedure and not a huge violation of morals and ethics.
They are flocking to him for a reason, rub3x. You know it, I know it, and many others know it. Your only choice is to overlook it and pretend it's not an issue. That's what most of the others have done. Turned the other cheek, sweep it under the carpet. I haven't found a source because it was never requested, that I recall. Again, an ethics committee investigation concluded no wrong doing with a vote of 4 to 0. Why you don't accept that, is something you will have to work out. It may be as simple as ignoring ties to white supremacists, neonazis, anarchists, 9/11 troofers, conspiracy nuts, etc. If you can overlook those things, surely you can accept the report of an independent ethics committee that found no wrong doing? Food for thought, my chubby little taco
He has ties to these people? You mean they support him and will vote for him? I hardly consider that a tie. Paul has publicly stated he doesn't think 9/11 was an inside job. Keep up the lies! Not to mention your whole candidates life/campaign is centered around an invisible being that doesn't exist. An independent jury cleared OJ Simpson of any wrong doing, by a vote of 12 to 0.
I find it interesting that you aren't addressing the sourced criticisms of your candidate and continue to attack a candidate lower in the polls than Mike Huckabee. Surely you do not see Ron Paul as a threat to the Huckabee campaign? With regards to the No Votes, there are many. Anything unconstitutional, has been voted no. Any tax increases, he has voted no. Any unbalanced budget, he has voted no. However there were also many yes votes. The authority to go after Al Queda in Afghanistan. To prevent partial birth abortions. Amendment to the Estate/Death Tax. Increased Child Tax Benefits. The Financial Freedom Act. Mandatory Troop rest between Deployments. National Missile Defense Bill. College Student Relief Act. Social Security and Medicare Solvency Amendment. I could go on and on, but I would rather talk about Mike, and as always, welcome you to start a thread (as I have mentioned numerous times) to discuss Ron Paul on the issues.
Oddly, guerilla, I don't find it interesting that you would claim I'm not addressing criticisms, when in fact, I've spent a great deal of time doing just that. It goes to the very heart of when I say that RP supporters are just not honest. I'm happy to talk about Mike too! In fact, the more dishonest allegations brought up against him forces me to seek the truth and counter, as I've been doing. I appreciate what you and ruber are doing, though I believe you may be doing so for alternative reasons No, I do not see RP as a threat to anyone, but America. Fortunately, his supporters are doing a much better job of making sure he's not polling worth a damn and probably never will. RP supporters will be the death of RP's candidacy.
How dare you try and divert us away from the real issues like if Dennis Kucinich's wife as a tounge ring or Obama is wearing a pin on his suit. Real Americans like Gtech and I are more concerned with real issues such as who Alex Jones supports.
Who wants to talk about an old kook that wears a tin foil hat? There's no leadership there. As I've shown, MH has proven leadership. He has accomplishments. He's been in the trenches.
Interesting how you say he's "been in the trenches" when it's in fact Ron Paul who served in the armed forces, not Mike.
