Presidential Candidate, Mike Huckabee moves into the second place spot in national poll, as reported on the campaign site today.

    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/pub...ial_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

    Additionally:

    1st in Iowa
2nd in Texas (I'm hearing this, no source available yet)
    2nd in Florida
4th in New Hampshire (2nd-4th is 1% difference, within margin of error that could easily have him 2nd place there as well.)
4th in South Carolina - With recent nine point gain.

Huck-a-Mania is alive and well :)

Looks like Thomson support is heading towards Huckabee.

It seems like Huckabee is going up and up and up.

There's no question he's a threat. The "heat" from other candidates is pouring onto him right now. People don't step on your heels, unless you are in front of them :)

Polling well is great, but electability is important.

This was the delegate picture in West Virginia a few days ago. Delegate signup concluded Friday.

I know my side sent in at least 39 more applications at the deadline, and we have some friendlies in the Uncommitted.

The Pa**ites have had a heck of a battle getting on the ballot in Illinois and DC. It takes a lot of money and/or grassroots. Hopefully Team Huckabee is on top of this.

I don't know why, something about Huckabee just turns me off. When he speaks, it's not so much that I don't like him, I just don't see him as a leader. Maybe he's too into god. That will bring some portion of the vote to him, not enough to actually win the presidency though.

Hell I hate Rudy, but would vote for Rudy before Huck. The higher he goes up, the more dirt is going to come out on him. Tax hikes, illegals, letting rapists off to murder, you know those things ;)

Polling without the delegates to back it up is meaningless. The RNC is a convention, popular vote (polling) has no effect on the outcome.

I could get into a mud slinging match, but I'm better than that (when I keep a cool head). May the best candidate win. The record of all of the candidates are out there if people bother to research them.

One has to assume delegates are not there to back it up, when their candidate is still hovering in single digits.

    Obviously the support is there.

How would you compare and contrast Huckabee and Romney? Aren't they sort of splitting the God vote between them? Why don't they team up and become contenders for first place?

Then how would one explain this?
That was the count late Friday. The polls are meaningless. I'm sure Huckabee outpolls Paul in West Virginia. But that doesn't mean he is in any better position at the convention.

Btw, we have at least a dozen more coming in by mail postmarked for the 30th, which should solidly cement us in the top 2/3.

I couldn't offer such off memory. I'd have to do some research. I don't dislike Romney, or most of the candidates for that matter. I just feel most comfortable with Huckabee.

As for teaming up, it may be a possibility. It would be a bit premature for any candidate right now though.

I don't explain it. There is no source, so I have no idea how those numbers are created or where they came from.

It's scary someone who is openly dishonest is even considered. Hell I guess I would destroy 90 hard drives too if I miss-used town funds. I guess we have another typical faith/moral based GOP candidate!

Were you talking about ron paul?

You'll have to work harder than a few disgruntled fourth rate hack journalists to get Huck ;)

It's been a while, but as I recall, you would be a prime candidate for the white supremacist candidate, correct? Or would that be "troofer" candidate, in your case?

Every state contributes to the delegates for the national convention. So yes, he's running for President (well Republican nominee firstly) in West Virginia, and in another 49 states. And so far he's off to a very good start, never mind rising steadily and quickly in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Actually, the Governor who followed Huckabee had to use up all of the State disaster relief money to replace the computers Huckabee destroyed on his way out.

It wasn't some journalists with a beef. It's documented. The ethics violations are documented. The lies about his tax record, ARE DOCUMENTED.
