Mike Gravel has left the Democratic Party, and become a card carrying member of the Libertarian Party. A staffer close to Gravel says that even though the LP is on the ballot in 50 states, Gravel may try to run as a fusion candidate with the Green Party as well. This is fairly interesting, because Gravel is a pretty big socialist, and I wonder how he will reconcile his positions with the LP platform where they differentiate. Also, GOP perennial candidate Alan Keyes is leaving the GOP ticket that basically ignored him, and is now running for the Constitution Party nomination. Keyes does very well with catholics, and the CP is a very "Christian" party. Rumor has it that the GOP may lose their so-con base to the CP. Pretty interesting. At least as interesting as when Perot ran the first time.
