Migrating to new server - a couple of questions

I've been lucky for the last couple of years and used a friends server to host most of my sites but he's shutting the box down so I'm migrating the last few sites to another box.

Both boxes are Linux - I'm guessing this will make a difference

    1) Moving stats from one to the other. Both boxes are using Webalizer for the stats. I'm guessing that all I need to do is pick up the log files from old server and drop onto new for there to be no problems. Would that be right or is there a clever way to do it?

    2) Moving email. One of the sites uses webmail exclusively for their email (i.e. doesn't download to local using an email client). How can I move their mail, settings, address book, etc. across to the new box?

    3) Is there anything else I should be aware of?

I'm not a server expert so be gentle with me, please

One other thing, the log files for some of the site are big (500MB+). Is there any need to keep them that size or can I edit them?

Any help would be gratefully received. I've got to move everything by the weekend :(

On the current host I have limited options whereas on the new host I've got admin rights so it'd be great if I were transferring everything the other way around

Which directories contain emails, for example? The stats I assume simply read the log files. Stats aren't that important, to be honest, but it'd be great if I could take the customers emails across for them.

Yeah sadly the current server doesn't allow me to backup because that's what I had planned to do. The new one does so the next time I do this should be a bit easier.

It's a Linux box - is there a default directory that all emails are stored in? Is it possible to simply copy that and put in on the new box?

No idea about that..I think the only way is you should contact your old host and tell them about your problem they might help you :)
