Hey guys, i need to ask a quick question. Whats the best way to back up a database? ive got a few of my clients who are using joolma and zencart software and i need to migrate the database to a new hosting account which also has WHM and cPanel (its the exact same system as we currently have). Is it just as simple as logging into the cpanel of the clients account and 'backing' up the database? then 'restore' the database on the new account? what i want to know will everything be EXACTLY the same or will i still need to make any changes/addons? thanks heaps in advance
CPanel also provides the option to migrate the account to new server if both servers have CPanel. Just look at this CPanel forum post for migration. I can help you in migration if you face any problem.
Hey, thanks for your reply. appreciate it Ive tried doing the cPanel way by generating a full back to my new server and put all the ftp details in and everything but then on the new server it shows up as 0mb. any ideas? if i backup to the home directory, i then can download it to my pc. it works fine that way but not to the new server. thank you
