This is not as easy as it might first seem. This is an old cobalt raq server and it is partially corrupted and crashed. Email is down and the control panel is down. The ONLY access you will have is via ssh login. So I need someone very technical to do this. One of the websites uses paypal for payments and that needs to be re-setup on the new server so that users can pay and get their unlock key automatically. There are scripts in place, but you need to make sure they all work with the right file permissions. Also be careful that the file of already registered users works too (This is very important). The scripts are written in PERL. You likely don't need to make changes but you might need to be able to read perl to figure out whats going on. The control panel is broken so you will need to inspect the sendmail settings files directly to setup the email addresses for each site. There are aliases setup for some of the emails so you will need to recreate those as well. You will need to make sure pop before send is enabled on the new server. The new server does NOT use any other control panel except webmin. So if you are not technical do not bother bidding. You need to be a linux admin guru with some knowledge or perl to do this job. Please send PM with you bid along with experience related to this job. I am willing to pay a decent price for someone really good. You can use F-secure ssh transfer and it would be like using a ftp server and then it wouldn´t be that much work. I would feel paid taking money for something that simple
The Sun Server usually use software Raid, are you check your server has software raid configure or not ? Lucky for you if your server has software raid configure and only thing you need is 2-3 command to restore everything.
He asking to migrate website (file, data, reconfigure server software, securities configure...) not only moving files. I'm not sure this work can be done 100% because corrupted
Configure a server is easy got my config as a Shellscript Recover files might be a problem.. but not impossible.. Security.. hehe most people who uses panels use default "security" of the panel which is crap..
Can I know the following please: - Old Server control panel? - New Server Control Panel? - How did you know what they are corrupted? - Scripting may not be a part of the techie, but there is a chance that it maybe sorted by the move itself. - Is the new server well configured ? - Have you got PERL modules installed on webmin? (Getting data from one control panel which is different from another can be really tough job)
No files are corrupted, except for the control panel files and pop3 since that doesn't work. Ftp still works I believe. Let me answer the above questions: 1) Old control panel: cobal raq control panel 2) New control panel: virtualmin / webmin 3) its very old and its probably just some config files but who knows, but its time to move to one of my new servers and abandon this old beast. The websites files are not corrupted. Websites are up and running just fine. 4) There is no scripting errors, but in a server move who knows what kind of file permission and user owner permission issues might arise. 5) The new server is setup by the virtualmin install script basically. 6) I don't think any special perl modules are installed or need to be. I am offering $300 for the job but I need someone who can show they have the experience and has actually read my original post and can reply intelligently. Thanks, Doug
I do get an idea around what are you trying to do. If you can get on Cpanel instead of webmin, it might make things easier. And I believe I can give it a try with the website data, but not much of hope with emails.
