The more I think about it... if I were the Republicans I would be doing everything possible to lose this election. Obama and his cronies are showing the American people why it's a bad idea to ever vote for a Democrat. The best thing that could happen to the Republican Party is two, four, or six more years of these looters in office. It could mean the end of the Democratic Party as we know it. Let the Socialists keep destroying the economy, it can always be rebuilt when wiser heads are in office.
Lets give Spencer a Republican happy-face by starting a meaningless war, better spent there than at home and re-election guaranteed. No recession for Bush.
Well, that's how the Democrats think. Or rather, that's how Breeze thinks, too. See, the Democrats wold rather hurt the Republicans, than help the country.
You should have seen Maxine Waters on CNBC this morning. Shes calling for a country wide freeze on all foreclosures and legislation to force banks to make principal write downs in lieu of foreclosure in cases where LTV exceeds 100%. Even the pussy Democrat supporting CNBC talking heads had to take a step back on that one. "Wouldn't that create a moral hazard for those who are still current on mortgages that are underwater, encouraging them not to pay?", asked one. "Wouldn't that cause title insurance companies to quit issuing contracts, since their contracts would not be worth the paper they are written on?" asked another. "Did your husbands bank, for which you are under investigation for guiding TARP money in their direction, implement such a principal write down policy voluntarily", asked yet another? Maxine cited the fraudulent activities of banks in general as being responsible for the entire mortgage crisis, completely exonerating those who took applied for sub-prime mortgages. The icing was when a panel member after the interview pointed out that most of the sub-prime foreclosures happened in the first 12-18 months after the collapse. What we are dealing with now are people that are part of the 10%(20%) unemployment number who have tried to hang on and are now failing. The other sizeable representation are failed loan mods. It would appear that Maxine, like many Democrats, does not give a damn if government intervention will drag out the housing recovery longer than stimulus money already has. To them, wealth redistribution at any cost. Its just such a shame the election day is still three weeks away. Sadly, it is going to take more than a single election to purge our representation of the likes of Maxine Waters. For those of you who like watching Stephen Colbert look like an idiot trying to construct the usual leftist straw man arguments against the tea party, check this out: http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/361891/october-12-2010/brendan-steinhauser
Nothing on TV is of much interest however from the above story I believe during the Great Depression banks were required to renegotiate home loans as one of the solutions that pulled the nation out of the negative spiral. ........ The next three weeks should be entertaining for political junkies - whether the Republican 8:1 money advantage will sway the electorate to a stampede or Democrats showing up at the polls in spite of it.
God knows they sure turned that mess around promptly. What a great example to follow. Its comic to see the Democrats whining about the Republican money advantage. It looks a lot like the outrageous money advantage Obama had going into the 2008 election, though you didn't hear Democrats complaining about it back then. The money advantage is as much an indicating factor of the nations desire for those candidates as the candidates are a result of the same money. Consider it a straw poll, and Democrats are loosing 8:1. As I said before, it is going to take more than one election cycle to get people who think like you and Maxine Waters out of office. I have no doubt that more than one of the Republicans who will be taking a seat from a Democrat this November, secretly shares your values and will need to be removed from office in the following election. I saw some interesting polling on the "liberal" media the other day. It turns out that, even though most identify as liberal on social issues, the polling breaks much closer to even on fiscal issues. I suspect that tea party groups, so long as they stay focused on fiscal policy, have a reasonable shot at purging the fiscally impure from our leadership in the next two election cycles. I'm cautiously optimistic.
You lose Spencer, and Mia - the liberals retain the Executive and Senate. As I pointed out I had already invested in the new Administration. Ignoring my answer presumably you would have owed me 10,000 - I am a business person and never engage in wagering.
You are right Blue Star, I was just referring to whatever people like Spencer was offering - I ignore that type wagering as well as I disdain evil.
And it looks like the R's have set up the perfect situation... leaving the D's in power but effectively preventing them from doing further massive damage to the economy.
I did not realize this was a competition. Some of us actually care about the direction of our country, democracy and freedom. You're going to see a lot of Democrats, moderates and Independents in the Senate move to the right. The simple majority is of little consequence given the direction the House has taken. And if you really want to make this into a competition, take a good hard look at the assembly's and senates in each of the 50 states, as well as the gubernatorial changes. This was the biggest shift AWAY from any one president's policies in the history of our nation. In other words, you've lost... If we're keeping track
You lose, Breeze. Obama can only sign what the House sends to them. And the House controls the economy. I don't believe you. Oh, speaking of ignoring your answer: Breeze, how old are you and what do you do for a living?
