mid term business review please

OK - It's a couple of months since I kicked off really trying to rev up my site, here are the facts (BTW, I've posted on seo-guy also, so apologies if you've also seen that one)

site: www.teneric.co.uk
age: 3 years
backlinks : 66 per G /and alltheweb
Size: 1910 pages (1800 are forums) with backlink at "business plan" to home page
target KW: business plan, business plans, business planning
Position : 5/6 in G.uk
Allinanchor: #1

I have found that using "business plan" in the anchor did not shift me at all.

When I was adding "teneric business plans" I was zooming up the chart

I have been 5/6 for a while now but am continually adding back links

What next to get me to #1

I have more pages, more backlinks than all above me - ????

Nice, straightforward site. You will get more hits if you have more content. Keep posting every tidbit you have in your forums. Also I would suggest a small allinanchor link to "Small Business Plans" on the bottom of each of your pages (Tastefully mind you).

It also could not hurt to point a subdomain to your forums such as...
forums.teneric.co.uk

There is rumor that subdomains might have the effect of having a second website.

 

Thanks for the review. I add a couple of pages a week - a pain, but has to be done.

Any ideas how to knock over #1 for my key phrase.

I have :

> more backlinks (with correct anchor text)
> larger site
> allinachor #1

and I can't budge !
