Anyone have a guess on when they are going to unleash it? Been getting a lot of "msnbot" traffic in the last week, so maybe they are ramping it up finally...

I think I hear Microsoft just pushed that back to 2007... Which means it will probably be some years after that.

    and in the mean time
MAY be it helps to fill up MSN present search engine the MSN bcentral at

    http://submitit.bcentral.com/msnsubmit.htm

which freely accepts apparently any number of submitted URLs ( at least i do so successfully since more than a year )
and may be this database might be used for MSN search engine / bots to start with ??

or what u think they would start form 0 with an empty URL base ??

Well if a search engine is good, I don't think it's necessary to submit a site. A search engine will find it via links.

I've never submitted to MSN, but they always manage to find my sites. MSN does visit less frequently, but it visits none the less.

I agree completely. The only thing you should ever need to submit to are directories.

If a search engine isn't prepared to go out and look for site -- via links -- then how can they ever claim to give the most relevant results? Submitting to search engines is a waste of time. Some people even suggest that it may have a negative affect.

    As per my other thread.

I have been told that MSN have bought or going into partnership with kellys business search engine and will ship this out with the new win2003. kellys are also going worldwide which makes sense.

I would imagine they are just going with kellys but maybe linking it to there own engine.

So if you are getting sniffed by MSN this maybe why
