Microsoft's Bing Search Engine only Page Rank 2

I was trying out Bing today and liked some of the features the search engines uses. Anyhows after that and reading all the threads and posts I decided to check bing's page rank just out of coureosity and saw that its page rank is only a 2.

With all the backlinks it must have got prior to its release and now while its in beta mode surley it must be a higher page rank.

Any thoughts on this? Just suprised me thats all.

That's crazy. How will they ever be able to sell text links?

Its just their starts. We all know how difficult to start a website and how difficult it to promote.
Will till months and months passed.

I don't think they care a bit about their pagerank. Remember Pagerank does NOT equal traffic rank. I am sure that they are getting way more traffic than many websites with a pagerank of 8.

I think we would need to wait for the next PR update as it would be more accurate.

Unlike we all, Microsoft would be caring a damn for PR, particularly since it is coming from a rival!

I wonder...though, if it would ever decide to file a suit against google for trying to devalue their search engine over that of its own! ;)

Just give BING time -- they are also going to be using an $80-$100 million budget for marketing so it will be insane to watch the SEO stats change on the site

I doubt they will ever be able to get above PR2. Also, the site will eventually be scrapped and sold off for less than the value stated.

Live.com redirects to Bing.com and as such they will inherit all of live.com's numbers soon enough...

Bing isn't PR2. We don't know what PR Bing has. Google updates what the PR toolbar once every 3 or 4 months. For all we know Bing is PR9.

I don't believe that Bill Gates cares about PR.

    It's all about traffic.

It's a new site and PR isn't really important. Traffic and searches are what they will care about. I am sure their PR will grow as they do more and more advertising anyway.

I'm sure soon it'll be more important. It's just been launched, what did you want?

    Besides, it has strong rivals.
