Hey everybody Microsoft yesterday announced they are back talking with Yahoo. Seems it is not to takeover Yahoo but to somehow join forces... You can read more at my blog MediaViper.com Have a read and tell all of your friends to buy Yahoo stock!!!!!!!!
Well this time Microsoft is very secretive, both I would say that it would be to Yahoo's benefit. Simple reason, now Google and Microsoft are both courting Yahoo and since it is not a merger, it should be a commercial deal, with two such strong suitors, Yahoo stands to gain from the bidding war.
Yes it seems a good time to buy Yahoo stock at the low price now as it won't stay there with Goog & Softie making a play. To me though it makers Ballmer seem desperate to prove he's a CEO on the scale of Jack Walsh..... Desperation always seems tacky though..... And I've been on a rant on the value of Yahoo Directory which could be wiped out.....
Jack Walsh was a different type of CEO for a totally different scenario I would say that Ballmer main worries are that he is pushing Yahoo too hard into the embrace of Google.
Its Great But If Microsoft Wins The Race of Yahoo Bid Than A Next Gen's Battle Of Internet Will Start Soon
An anonymous informant is reported by Reuters and confirmed by the Wall Street Journal as revealing that Microsoft may be proposing a deal to break up Yahoo! Both Microsoft and Yahoo have declined to comment, but a source is reported as revealing that - understandably - “Yahoo executives reacted lukewarmly to the planâ€. thanks for the update. last time i heard was the bid off the table the there would be no deal. btw, will this deal ever come to a closure?
It won't be the previous version of the deal where Microsoft would take over Yahoo. What apparently is being discussed is Yahoo giving up it's Search Marketing side which Microsoft would run. This would allow Microsoft to compete with Google and allow Yahoo to focus on its core which is Content Publishing and Entertainment. At least that is the conventional wisdom. Yahoo would probably sell of the Search Marketing side and keep its Display Ad side.
Very interesting, I knew Microsoft was only trying to hide their intentions by first saying that they have lost interest in Yahoo! Maybe they slept on their decision and realized that it would be a great mistake not to acquire Yahoo!. But we shall see.
Not quite it depends, if the end results is more competition yes, if it ends up as a monopoly , will will lose except the monopolizing company.
