    I bought genuine the Windows XP Professional and it Still told me that my copy of windows is not genuine. I called microsoft and they couldn't help me.

    I bought it from Staples.

    I just gave up and downloaded the crack and it works fine.

    I think that microsoft codes the drives of illegal versions so they cant be reinstalled, perhaps this may be an issue.

    I have already downloaded and installed Vista Beta RC1
    It SUCKS.

    I WILL NOT be upgrading to vista. It's way too bulky, it eats system resources and they have added too much crap to it.

    My computer almost blewup trying to run vista, and I have a good computer, still it was very slow.

    AMD X2 Dual Core / 64Bit / 3800+
    2.5GB DDR2 667mhz RAM
    Raptor 10,000 RPM Hard Drive
    X1300 Pro PCIe Graphics Card / 512MB

    Now, if I can't run vista with those specs, I'm not interested in it. I'm sticking with XP.

    Vista is a monster....it eats resources...Not even most of the computers that are being sold now can handle vista...

    depending on what you use your computer for I would check on Windows Media Center. A lot of good features plus you get IIS with it.

    I think XP has been marked as 'end of life' by Microsoft so they wont be supporting it any more, but I guess it is not going to matter, most people dont need support, and they use bootlegged or pirated copies anyways. You could also simply download and use the Windows 7 RC versions which I think have 120 day free trial with them.

    I tried to authorise my windows by putting in another product key and it came back product key incorrect and now is giving me 30 days to activate, so I'm assuming after 30 days it will close me down or something .
