    Hi

I would like you guys to detail what experience you might have with Microsoft Windows XP Embedded (SP 2 eventually) and what problems you faced in developing your solutions.

Also I would enjoy to see some already existing products that are up on the market using the backbone of Microsoft Windows XP Embedded in order to understand the power of it.

Personally I can't afford to pay almost 1000$ for the Developer Tools. If anyone here has a full license and has been working with it, please be so kind and share your experience with as much details as possible.

Thank you for your time and patience.

    Have you tried http://connect.microsoft.com ???

I think this will help you alot in not only it's community, but also the free BETA programs to give you an idea of what to expect as well as where to look for tomorow, if you follow.

Is it possible to install software in the running Windows XP Embedded operating system or do they have to be placed as components in the component designer BEFORE the operating system image is built ?

I have already installed the 120 days trial but I am having troubles when upgrading from Windows XP Embedded SP1 to SP2 because the Component Designer fails to connect to the local SQL Components Database right after SP2 is installed, so I can't currently evaluate the full potential of uptodate components. Contacted the Technical Product Manager of Windows XP Embedded regarding this problem that I face on multiple laboratory computers(Mike Hall if I remember correctly) but he never replied.

I can't find any relevant category for Windows XP Embedded on their forums. Maybe I am just too tired for working over night but I can't see it. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your time and patience.
