I have a 2.0ghz MacBook w/ 1gb ram and an 80gb hard drive.. Core 2 Duo.. I love it. The only bad thing is that the OS takes about 17GB. Once you run it, you'll see why. They've thought of everything.

You can run OSX on an intel pc but it is illegal. I plan on switching to a Mac soon due to all its benefits.

Unless you play pc games, OSX is a much better operating system. Everybody that has switched hasn't ever been unhappy. Go to a Apple store and try it out, I am sure you will love it.

There isn't any Apple store here. Thats why I asked if OSX can be run on Intel PCs. Where can I find a copy of OSx that runs on PC?

I have a mac and I love it. Microsoft gets all their ideas from Apple anyway. Windows Vista is going to be very similar to OSX.

That was pretty funny! I'm surprised I've never seen that one. It looks a bit dated! Thanx for sharing!

is this true? so let's say if I buy a apple computer with 80GB, then wouldn't I only have 63GB left to use?

This thread title is a bit misleading. I don't see how a Multi-National Corporation can be compared to a product from a rival corporation.

Now if it was Microsoft vs. Apple or Windows vs. Mac OSX then it might make some sense...

Though your guys like MAC or OSX, no matter Microsoft copy Apple or not, Microsoft is much more popular than Apple, and this is because more people like Microsoft product. Remember customer is the god.

If Apple do think their computer and system are the best or better, then I think Apple can focus on their computer and system, instead of developping IPod and IPhone. Why Apple change the name to Apple Inc., and removed the "computer"? I think you shall get some ideas from this change.

Probably because they just don't make computers. They make many other products which you just can't put under computer category.

These are soo pointless threads. Youll never come to a conclusion. Yes i like macs but theres always pro's and con's. Though you mise as well get a intel mac so you can run mac AND windows

You dont need an Apple Store nearby.. just order it online from Apple.com. As far as OSX86 (the hacked OS), you could probably find it floating around a torrent site like demonoid or mininova but its not going to help you.

Assuming your hardware matches the very limited number of hardware profiles that the hacked version supports, its very slow and does not reflect favorably on the OS. However, if you were running OSX on the hardware its ment to run on, its blazing fast.

yeah, that'd be because purplenova is coded for windows and not for mac... besides, looks like advertising to me ;)

I would get mac osx if I had the money to buy a mac... or there are other ways to get it.... the only reason I'm sticking to windows is purely for compatibility... if I got osx and then virtual pc it would be all good anyway

Incorrect. Microsoft is more well known that Apple. Half the people that own a computer wouldn't even have heard of mac osx, or even know they have a choice apart from windows. A lot of people think that a computer is basically windows.

Consumers aren't exactly demanding Microsoft, again, most of them are unaware there is even a choice

I was planning on getting a MacBook until I saw apple's recent behaviour towards Microsoft...

    On their homepage...

Their commercials, posters, people, everything is not criticizing Microsoft. They just can't learn that Microsoft is just too popular, and in my opinion, advertising like that means "They suck! don't use their sh!tty products, we have better sh*t."

I don't like that, infact that changed my thought on the Mac. We know its good, just... let it rest and work on something that will bring audience to you rather than take audience from someone else...

EDIT: Let's see how many times Apple mentions Vista on their site...
    http://www.google.com/search?q=site...ox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7GGLH

Most of these pages talk about Vista negatively, and how they are better. Screw you! I am sticking with vista now.
