Microsoft ups Hotmail storage to 5 GB

hmm..I use hotmail account as msn IM only...

 

It's only a marketing tactic... No one uses more than 1GB (except a few...)

Yahoo probably didn't have to expand its servers when they announced the unlimited storage

However, I'm so happy to have switched to Gmail back in December!

 

I have my custom domains hosted with microsoft, so it's good news for me

 

I dont need 5gbs, I wonder what storage they will offer after 3-4 years..

 

plus MSN close your account, if u dont login in 30days

Well, I think saying Unlimted is more useless then saying 5 GB so it better I think...10 mb attachment really sucks then your giving 5 GB...meains 512 files of 10 MB...

 

50mbs or so would be enough for me because i use my email only for text emails, idk what everyone else is sending ..

 

that's really annoying, i would pay a little bit just to avoid that.

 

I happened to notice that my inbox size was reading 5GB instead of the 2 I was used to seeing and I was wondering if it was a server bug. So I cheked my other hotmail accounts and sure enough it was 5GB. I rather Hotmail over Gmail but I have to agree Gmail has a better spam filter. It might be because spammers target MSN boxes more. My Yahoo box collects allot of spam also and so far it has not sent one important email to spam.

On the same subject line. Does anyone have a .live account. I have heard rumors about it but have not been able to verify it.

Forgot 200 GB or 500 GB, use yahoo, get unlimited.

But seriously, this war is getting stupid. Ever since Yahoo offered unlimited, whats the point?

I prefer to be allowed to attach files bigger than 10MB instead.

 

I cant beleive people need so much storage. i realise that storage space is so dirt cheap now, but i have 3gb of storage space with gmail and only use about 40mb, i also have 2gb storeage space with hotmail and use about 15mb, thats just under 5gb storage space just wasted. and i bet im one of millions of customers who have gb's worth of unusued space.

How do you get a .live account? Cause I am signed up for the beta and still have not gotten any word on it.
