SO I had to install a MS patch or 9 today. Actually it was only 2 but that's 8 in the past 36 hours that they have released.

Anyway, I installed them and of course they wanted me to reboot right away. Well I didn't want to! I was in the process of doing stuff all day I didn't want top be bothered with a reboot.

So you know the little annoying ass warning pop up..."you want to restart now or later?"

I've been hitting later for 9 hours now and I let me guard down, I was in the middle of editing a picture in PS and I accidentally hit NOW...F'ing thing rebooted on me right as I was working on a picture....

What a POS kind of crap is that Bill??

Must be a way to disable that stupid annoying script??

All you need to do is set the update settings to 'do not check for updates'. Microsoft generally release updates on wednesdays. If you want the updates but do not want it to bug you then select 'download updates but let me choose when to install them'. It can be configured through the control panel

right, I have that set up just like that but I made the mistake of installing them knowing I didn't want to reboot. it kept asking me to reboot every 8 mins or whatever, very annoying.

What I think you just disable the automatic update setting. This will solve you problem.

it has not so much to do with that setting though. I actually want them to tell me when stuff is ready for DL, what I don't need is the incessant reminder to reboot after the fact.

Better to go the manual route. Select do not download any updates. As I said before microsoft issues updates on wednesdays. So on wednesdays manually check for updates download and install them and then proceed with editing :).

Y, or at the very least not install them until I am 100% sure I can reboot as soon as it's finished ;)
