hmm.. together they will have a good percentage of search volume and will inch towards google in market share. But I don't expect google to loose their position in search market any time soon. MS and Y! are on totally different platforms and neither have the search technology to beat G. But it will be interesting to see what they are going to do next!
This depends, if I were to do a search, it would be Google, to look at stock market info and analysis it would be Yahoo Finance.

This is quite SOP reply for any company being a target of a takeover, hope they make the decision soon.
Likely break something, or bloat it so bad it's hard to use. Either way, if it happens, I only see Google getting even more popular (if that is possible).
Reports and backroom deals of Microsoft courting Yahoo have been going on for more than a year now. Shoemoney has blogged about it months ago. As well as many business relate media have been talking about it for months. So it isnt big news. What the real news here is.......Will Yahoo finally accept the offer. Like the saying goes Yahoo. Either take a crap or get off the pot. Accept already.
no, microsoft is very reliable in one thing, early release of any of their products. The early releases of the products usually drawn people away from them, and cripple them right from the beginning. Besides, even if they do take down the great google empire, they themselves would become the very same beast they destroyed.
Microsoft never has down good with any site they buy. If yahoo sells out i bet they will go down in search not up.
together they will get to control about 30% of SE industry so Google with it's 60% will still be dominating.
Google is not beatable in the next 5 years , but if there were a big mind in Microsoft it will be possible i have some ideas to reach more percent of searches i may contact Microsoft with my offer
