Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) just shipped in late March, but Microsoft is already asking users for input on its replacement. Microsoft has not referred to this "next" version as IE9, at least not yet, but it's the designation that Web denizens immediately slapped on the future release. The developer said the new one would be the fastest web browser in the world and changes such as faster installation, a simple way to enable and disable browser plug-ins.
As I posted here a couple weeks ago. To the contrary An early look at IE9 by Microsoft. Microsoft's own charts show it is slower than where everyone else is today so who said this? Microsoft so far has not. In the link I provided they say no such thing. Judging by what they say there, it will be a typical turd like all versions of IE are.
Agreed. IE8 is slugish, its extremely unfriendly to use, and at risk of using a cliche, as buggy as Firefox is becoming, I would still choose to use that over IE.
IE9, i think microsoft has to work hard to compete with chrome and mozilla. Well, IE already lost its market. i cant say much for it.
They speak about new features that nobody actually needs. What we need is god security, and good HTML/CSS rendering, supporting new technologies. Oh, Microsoft... Such a big company, such a crappy browser...
One thing I noticed about IE8 vs Firefox is that IE takes into account the ClearType settings in the latest versions of Windows running on LCD screens. Firefox does not.
The Internet Explorer team announced on their blog that it won't be including any CSS3 functionality in IE8, instead they will be producing their own, alternative standard, which they are codenaming CSS.2012.
To be honest, IE Sucks. On a scale of 10 I give it a 7 at best with firefox and Chrome tied at 8.5. IE9 has to be immensely different than all other browsers to even make 80% of its lost users realize that can at least try to mess around with it instead of firefox and Chrome or even Opera.
I assume you can't read since I posted the link to the features Microsoft says IE9 will have so you can quit hoping and give up on the thought. If IE9 came out today with the feature set Microsoft displayed, it would be 4 years behind where Firefox is today. If you include the current standards and practices that no version of IE has, IE9 would be 12 years behind Firefox, Chrome and Safari if it were released today. iow, as of today, IE9 is the worst browser on the planet and it's not going to be released for at least two more years. So what does that tell us about IE8 and IE7?
"IE9 is the worst browser on the planet", i don't agree with it. IE9 will debut in Las Vegas MIX 10 of the General Assembly in March 15 to 17 Next year. It will support GPU acceleration and abandon the current JavaScript engines.
You, too, didn't bother to read the link I posted. Microsoft's own charts show IE9 is slower than all the other browsers and not much better than IE8 on Acid3 and isn't standards compliant at all in other areas. So, believe it, cause Microsoft said so!
Chrome and Firefox browsers are currently doing my job very good. As Chrome is to get extension, I would consider to change my full time browser to Chrome from Firefox. I am not interested in internet explorer from 2006.
IE is easily the worst browser, so why they keep pushing for new versions I haven't the foggiest. I know my school system is still running IE7 on some computers!
