Microsoft blogging and social networking service, Windows Live Spaces, was beset with technical problems immediately following its launch on Tuesday. http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/20060804/msn-live-spaces-microsoft.htm
While Microsoft seems to have no competition when it comes to software and related products, the internet does not seem to be its strong suite. Microsoft still seems to be in its infancy in terms of its transition into internet products and services.
From the end user perspective I'd hardly call it a 'rocky start'. I was logged into the service late last night and throughout today and I only had one problem - and that wasn't even really related to Microsoft. Compare that to the 50+ errors I get per day using MySpaces 5+ yr old service.
I agree, I'm not sure myspace could possible have more errors than it does. Literally, half of the time, myspace is unusable.
Microsoft is slowly trying to catch up and imitate existing internet services (Google Maps, MySpace, AdSense, etc.). They'll probably have it in a couple of years (they just have to make their sites the defauls in the Windows OS )
With every major launch there will surely be some problems associated with it. MSN is no different to any other company in that regard. Apart from the public expectation that microsoft will fail somewhere along the line and cause huge amounts of frustration for the user. I just hope it doesn't mean yet more spam abusers getting another tool to just generate links and fill the place with junk... inevitably it will do though.
I know right. And they're are going to pay out the nose for it too. More and more common myspace users are beyond fed up and myspace doesn't seem to be taking any action. They could start by getting off those ISS servers. Swear to god I saw a DLL error the other day.
Myspace pisses me off badly. There servers are slow and they seem to always have problems. I can see more users switching to microsoft's social networking from myspace.
theres are a few other options like facebook, tagworld, and others but you don't see others migrating over...
Ya but for me most other social networking sites had less or worse features than MySpace. I think Microsoft will be able to give MySpace a huge run for the money. MySpace needs to hire like 1,000 new technology employees ASAP.
