I've used skype for years, not premium, not a lot, but enough to feel extremely pissed off at them right now. First up - if you're on Windows 8 (what they call "modern windows") you lose screen sharing ability And now, for those of us on "non modern windows" ie win7 they're showing the avatars of blocked users on your homescreen. So the naked and not flaccid celtic leprechaun greets me when I start up skype. They've acknowledged the problem but aren't rolling out a quick fix - how hard can it be? Or is this just a way of letting those of us who aren't "modern" know that we don't matter unless we upgrade? Oh, but on the plus side, I got an award for both my first and second posts in their support forum. If you want more info check out https://support.skype.com/en/search?q=flaccid
Still have $10 in skype credit that will never be used. When I do skype-to-skype all sounds fine. When I use my skype credit to call a phone number, it sounds like they are in a tin can dangling over the edge of a cliff. Not worth paying for.
Worked for me. No official results but the blue box with the forum link is still there. You may have to log in...
I tried some queries, it works. So may be yes, i need to log in for this particular one. I have hardly tried skype before, as i was happy with yahoo messenger (as using it more than 10 years). I just created an another account on skype as someone here on DP was giving free seo tool license(haven't got yet). Couldn't create the desired id, it just kept asking microsoft account to register with no further visible help.
I use Skype for one-on-one and occasionally one-on-one-on-one calls. For larger conversations and/or web meetings in which a desktop needs to be displayed, I use GoToMeeting. Both have connectivity/transmission issues on a significant percentage of calls. By the way, I have a paid membership for GTM and purchase Skype credits to make international calls. Neither one of them performs consistently for business purposes, in my opinion, but I put up with them because I have not found anything better (Webex is not better than GTM in my experience.)
Yeah ditto, I like the one on one on one too but I don't think I'm going to get that out of $10 worth of Skype credit
I never use skype alot. The only reason i am even using it now is to contact with my clients. I hate the Skype's way to only send messages when one gets online. this sometimes makes it hard to send a message to a person who is offline for you all the time. But calls and others things do workout fine when the internet connection is good. The skype windows store app totally sucks and i am still using the windows desktop version on windows 8
Hi, No, I am not seeing anything like that. In addition to the Skype account that I have put money into, I have a "free" one under another handle and that one seems fine, too. Now, I have never accepted an invite to connect from anyone I did not know and would tag those requests as "Abuse" with Skype and they and their request would totally disappear from my screen. Haven't gotten one of those in quite some time, though I got them often when I first signed up.
I gave up on skype long ago. It made my computer slow and I was fed up of the frequent updates. For those who insist on chatting with me I use gmail's inbuilt chat feature. I am curious what is the connection between porn and skype? Skype can be used for porn? how?
The new skype is very annoying. I use it to play games with my friends, however I always lag out. I know its their fault as I have decent internet, and when I use steam calling it is perfectly fine.
