I just wanted to try out this new antivirus. The download file size was 6.97 mb.
I must say it beats others in size. Many antivirus are bloated and only slow down
the performance and take up hddisk space.

But it seems MSE comes out of this problems completely. Its fast and takes only 576k of memory in my task manager. :D

I kinda like it, not sure about its reliablility though,

Has anyone tried it? Does it work for a replacement to KIS or NOD 32?

I'd like to hear your opinions on this :D thanks

I'm not aware of this! If it takes less memory as you said, then I have to try this :) Even I see many positive reviews about this product.

I've talked about this multiple times on this board but, as usual, no one listens.

I showed two magazine articles which rate MSE as one of the best anti-virus programs which also doesn't slow down your computer. I've used it for a year or more but can't say whether that is true or not but I it does seem to be. The articles also state the quality of MSE is as good or better than other av programs, such as AVG, but I don't recall the others. Search on this board or Google and you should find it.

for me i just found out about MSE on this board in one of the av thread.
If you have been using it for a year... are you satisfied with it? do u regret not using other apps like KIS? NOD32?
Have you ever been infected since then? of course your pc i mean. :D hehe
Because its soo light and simple, i am just worried if it can do its job properly.

I feel its good too. I might stick to it. As other anti-virus are quite high memory consumer.

I am going to test it out... simply because you endorsed its quality. You have always been a good critic of MS and so if you find the quality of MSI good... it has to be really good! :)

I read a lot of positive reviews about this antivirus especially about the detection rates which is very good for free antivirus.

Definitely going to try it once my Kaspersky license expired. :p

I did try Kaspersky Internet Security, as trial, but it was a bit slow on my pc, causing frequent memory sparks.
MSE has handeld its memory usage at minimum. :)

I switched to MSE a few months ago after using a few other products and reading many favourable reviews. I have found it to be less CPU intensive than what I have used before, and so far no problems with it at all. I cannot recall the site offhand, but I recently read that MSE supposedly has less false positives than a lot of the major players out there on the market.

MSE automatically detected and removed worm, keylogger and backdoor trojan when i inserted a infected usb drive. It did a pretty impressive job on this.
I will update more about MSE as i get more experience with it. :D

used it for couple of months, removed it completely and noticed how much faster my desktop runs without it.
it didnt report about any virus during this period, even though there were plenty on my USB flash ....

wgcom, did you update your MSE regularly? Maybe you didn't install it properly or something has gone wrong. It's detecting perfectly anything that's inserted.

what do you mean by "update", I thought it updates it self automatically, like any other antivirus out there....
when it was installed, my comp wont respond for any input for like 2-3 mins when booting, during this time CPU was 100% taken by MSE...
