Microsoft = S**T

Nothing they create lately seems to work! I would avoide Microsoft like a black death! My reasons why....

I'll start my rant with Vista, What a joke! I upgraded my pc a while back to vista only to discover it made Adobe products not function as they should! So i contact adobe who told me it was 'bugs' in Vista, i then contacted microsoft who wouldn't give me any solution but to go back to XP but it doesn't stop there! nope, they made me PAY for it!
Then windows 7 came along! great i thought i would purchase an upgrade for my still very new very expensive computer, but....IT DIDN'T WORK! it gave adobe products a whole new list of issues! AHHH, so i once again contacted microsoft this time for a refund, But nope no luck! this time they blamed adobe! So i thought i would gain some proof of the issue as possibly others may have it too? So i hit google, and i was right, many many others had the same issues all blaming vista and windows 7! so with my proof i contacted them again, but nope their customer support seem to be more interested in their wage than actual customer support!

    my second rant...
Xbox, omg! Quite a while back now got my 360 which after a few months gained a issue some of you may of hurd of 'Red ring of death' not going into all the issues again but it's pritty much the same story as above but after did manage after a long long time to get them to keep it for a long long time to repair it.

Bing... Wat's the point! Google own the net! and are number one when it comes to seach engines. Who actually types in anything but google when wanting to look for some thing? no one i know! any why because it works! and it's worked for a long long time gaining an amazing rep. But as some of you may know if some thing works microsoft have to make their own version! isn't that how they started, ripping off acorn and macintosh! Infact has anyone been on bing for any other reason than your curious because of the many many adverts. which i will add there was one that made me chuckle, ofcourse us men use private browsing to hide we have purchased some thing for the mrs...Cough, cough, porn cough, cough.

msn... they can't even seem to get this simple little programme to work properly, mine every few weeks will just deceide i don't have a contact list but few hours or days later i do have one. hmm Crap!

Hotmail... Not even this works! i stopped using it years ago when i forgot my password thought i would make a new account to only find out that i couldn't sign up for anymore otmail accounts as i had too many! do they only allow you to have one!

oh and IE (internet explorer) not even this works! crashs and freezes for no reason at all get your selfs FIREFOX! and make sure your web servers are LINUX!

I would say if your on this site then you have an intrest in or are a web programmer or software programmer and i would assume a vast amount of you are users of adobe products such as dreamweaver, flash, fireworks and photoshop? i'd say to avoid any future issues spend a little extra cash and get a mac! wen does a mac break unless it's the users fault. never?

Would be interesting to hear any of your storys about the disfunctional microsoft, or maybe some of you think its the dogs...

I didnt have problems with Vista really, although I do prefer Windows 7 over it. And I haven't had any problems with Windows 7. I've also used Adobe products on XP/Vista/Windows 7 - well adobe reader and photoshop. No probs whatsoever.

Yeah, RROD sucks but, they've worked on improving it. I've had a RROD xbox and it was fixed pretty quickly and they gave a free month's of Live for the inconvenience :). And I think it was only gone 2 weeks, so two weeks extra live. I have to say though, that same Xbox, got RROD again recently but, I think it's a different issue not due to overheating. My partners dad had it and I, or rather we, think his partner dropped it.

Bing, i don't use it. If you don't like it/want to use it, then don't. Same as yahoo, if you dont want to use it, don't. Sure Bing may show up on Facebook and was weird but, doesnt bother me. Some might prefer Bing.

MSN - i presume you mean messenger. I havent had any problems for AGES, and ages! Same as hotmail. It's my main email and I haven't had any problems. I also have two email addresses, no problems logging out on one and logging into the other etc. Windows Live mail is also my main mail client, i prefer it over thunderbird.

Again, with IE, you dont have to use it. In fact if you have Windows 7, there's now a "browser option", which tells you about the different browsers and gives you a choice. As it happens, when I have used IE, i havent had any problems, I just prefer FF, although recently I've had many problems with FF. Like the cache/cookies not deleting properly. So developing a website, doing any changes, you have to manually delete all cache/cookies etc, at least once. So I just open IE or chrome up to check the changes. Firefox hasnt been my friend for the past few months in that respect.

I, i personally wouldnt be able to have just a mac, I would need a windows computer as well. Thats how I work. And MS things dont not work for me. Actually, maybe a slight lie, I've had one problem in the past, with user permissions but, I've found a way around it. I'd also rather have my Xbox 360 over an iPhone/iPad/iPod. Don't get me wrong, I liked my iPod/iPhone but, I like Android more with regards to phones and Xbox with regards to gaming. That said, I wouldnt mind a Windows Phone 7 to take a spin with :). I'd get a WP7 phone before I get another iPhone I think. Maybe because I havent played with one before but, still, i'd still rather choose it over Apple. Who, also think they rule the world . Do you work for them? Blasting almost every MS product?

Unfortunatly yer, after spending so much on a pc im kind of stuck with it for now, until my next upgrade and i'll be going to mac! They just seem to have their fingers in to many pies, maybe they should have less pies and cook them properly.

LPC, don't upgrade! If you have to buy a mac, anything beyond xp is a nightmare. If they got XP right you think they could make the follow on products work :-S

No luck :( and your right microsoft do rule the world! If google don't own it microsoft do bit of a tesco vs asda situation i guess.

Oh no, I meant Apple think they rule the world too. More than Google, as much as Microsoft. Ah yup, Tesco vs Asda. Where I used to live, there was only 1 Asda in the county, and that was in my town but here, there's a few more and ironically not as many Tesco's I don't think. Well, not close by anyway. But yeah, any piece of land, Tesco seem to want. And yup, the new government suck. If they have their way, I probably won't even have a flat to live in, let alone any income :|.

You Idiot... If MS = S%*T.. then i would hate to know what you are... MS have ~ billions of dollars.. just because something doesn't work for you doesn't mean it's S%*T.. MS actually do a very good job and on most cases produce quality products (besides vista & IE).. I can not believe you spent 30mins writting your OP lmao.. you should find a hobby ;)

Yes Vista was a mistake as is IE.. Windows 7 & XP are solid products, MAC's are MAC's they suit some people but not others, seen way too many of these types of threads at the end of the day 90% of people will say they do not have issues with it, if your stuck with a PC install Ubuntu but again like MAC's it will somewhat limit you... MS have all the money in the world and have very smart people working for them (not so sure any of their smart employee's made it to the IE development team).. ahh i give up this thread like many other useless MS is crud threads will drag on for days with no final outcome.

Ah i do like Apple, they are more Hardware / Gagety though and being male it's in my chemistry to love a good gaget! I do think apple / mac deserve their break though the one in recent years they have got as if my history is right wern't they some of the orriginal pioners of the PC before Microsoft and microsoft stole the ideas, chaged it a little, rebranded it and made it cheap? may be wrong but sure i read that some where a long time ago lol.

Tesco's are a nightmare! We have a Tesco super store about 10 mins from me and it's HUGE! two floors and its like a warehouse but some lands come up so they are building another tesco super store 5 mins from me, about 4-5 miles from the other. Madness! and it's going to be about 1 min from the asda superstore lol. Not sure why they are superstores though, i been to them and they deffo arn't super!

I hate tis goverment, some right numpty's voted them in! Taking everything away from bottom/middle classes and leaving the rich di*ks alone. it's wrong! also are they that blind that they can't see that what they are doing is sending us back into a 2nd recession? i know things normally get worse before they get better but i think they are taking the buiscuit a little

they have billions because they where one of the first when it was a niche market, it was expensive macintosh or cheap windows. They where allways going to be big, then if anyone was in there way they just brought them out. They made the market impossible for competitors for years, look how mac died! even though mac was allways better! but, they started becoming crap after windows ME and only producing one decent OS since ME being XP, and people had enough and with the boom of mac after the ipod/itunes they where back and people have been spending more on quality.

just because you have billions doesn't make a product good. windows is just so forced into our society that no one new of anything other than them for so long! and we where made to beleive they where the best!

How so? My company and I have not used Windows in 3 years and do everything we did on Windows.
Apple and Google both have more cash than Microsoft.
    I agree with you there.

Microsoft doesn't make PCs. Microsoft did steal some of Apple's ideas for Windows.

Mac computers make up 10% of all PCs sold, up from 5% just a few years ago. Half of all college students own a Mac.

    What's your source?

Also, on Vista, it was very buggy upon release, but after SP1 it worked smoothly. I suggest doing your research before you buy an OS if you plan on running it on the same computer you are running an older one. Generally, there are bugs brought upon by certain hardware combination. And many of the larger applications that have streamlined code such as Adobe applications take a while before patches are released to make them work on new Operating Systems. It is your fault that you didn't look into that, and of course Microsoft is going to make you pay for your downgrade to XP, if you didn't have your CD Key, you had no proof of ownership, your fault again.

I got the RRoD once, I just sent it in for repair, and it works fine now.

Having a search engine won't hurt Microsoft, plus it IS different than Google, not just a clone.

Windows Live Messenger works fine for me, maybe this goes back to your hardware issues.

I have multiple Hotmail accounts, just make sure you aren't logged into an existing one when you try to make a new one.

IE works okay for me, doesn't crash or freeze. I would again look at your hardware.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on my one laptop, and my desktop. I have Windows XP on another older laptop, and I run Ubuntu on all of them. Everything works for me fine because all of the hardware have no known issues. I also use a Mac Pro daily in the computer lap here at school, so I use all three types of Operating Systems every day. I tend to prefer none of them. They all have their problems.

Hardware is fine, i have two computers so can't be hardware faults on both. but when you upgrade to a brand new pc you kind of expect adobe cs5's products to work on it. You don't buy brand new pcs, brand new software then expect to wait for it to function as it should thats just crazy! Specially for the money it costs. as for having to PAY for a downgrade because vista was full of bugs is also madness. i swap would of done me fine, i didn't want th vista i wanted some thing that worked, what i paid for. As for it being my fault how exactly

the 10% number was in the news a couple days ago. The 50% number was in the news earlier this year. Both were business and technical rags. I posted the link here last year.

and people think the cost of a Mac isn't worth it. They don't have such issues.

I believe he's talking about the fact that IE is the, technically, the worst browser on the planet.
